Indigenous Affairs Policy Committee

To examine the relationships between Canada’s businesses and Indigenous peoples and advocate opportunities/guideposts both can use – under the leadership of the federal government – to ensure private sector projects can move forward in a way that meets businesses’ competitive priorities while respecting the rights, cultures and aspirations of Indigenous peoples. This includes – but is not restricted to – creating long-term economic (e.g., royalties for community improvements) and social benefits (e.g., transferable skills training and education, employment) for Indigenous peoples as well as protecting the environmental integrity of their – and all Canadian - lands.
