Since April 2009, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce has been offering an online certification service for Certificates of Origin (CO) through TradeCert.
We currently issue a great number of COs electronically. This service allows exporters to apply and receive their approval electronically from the comfort of their own office (providing they have access to a good quality color printer). In addition, online certification also provides:
- Ease of access: Canadian exporters can apply online and print from anywhere in the world.
- Reduced travel time and courier costs: no need to leave your office and wait in line.
- Fast, convenient and user-friendly: get certificates in hours versus days.

To register with the online certification system, go to TradeCert.com/Canada and follow the three simple steps. We strongly recommend that you scan a copy of the letter of waiver and background documents (i.e. proof of business registration in Canada, proof of origin, etc.) and send them by email to firstname.lastname@example.org for review before obtaining the required notarization. Once reviewed and approved by Canadian Chamber staff, please ensure to courier the original documents to the address on the form.
Upon receipt of the required documents, we will create a profile for your organization. Your company’s primary system user (as per the info provided on the letter of waiver) will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to use the system and retrieve his/her login information. Please note that other users within your organization can be added by the primary user. You will then be ready to submit your applications online and print your own COs.
