World Intellectual Property Day

Ottawa, April 26, 2011-Today, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, through the Canadian Intellectual Property Council (CIPC), celebrates World Intellectual Property Day. This year’s theme is “Designing the Future.”

“Today is World Intellectual Property Day and we at the Canadian Chamber observe the significance of IP for Canadians,” says Perrin Beatty, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. “We also take this opportunity to remind the Canadian government of the importance of increasing the protection of IP rights, without which the livelihoods of Canadians businesses would be put at risk.”

Ottawa, April 6, 2011-Today, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce launched its election platform, 2011 Election: The Canadian Business Game Plan. This document lays out the views of the Chamber and its members across Canada on issues that affect the long-term prosperity of our nation and the quality of life of every Canadian.

“Some people believe that you have to choose between businesses and families. On the contrary, when Canada’s businesses are healthy, all Canadians benefit. When they are not, all Canadians feel the pain. This election needs to be about real issues, issues that matter to Canadian businesses and Canadian families,” said Perrin Beatty, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
