ICC Canada Arbitration Conference a big success
On October 14th, ICC Canada (The Canadian Chamber of Commerce) hosted its annual International Arbitration Conference in Ottawa.
The Conference attracted the largest attendance ever with over 125 delegates from across Canada, Europe and the U.S. participating. Many of the attendees commented on how much they enjoyed the content of the Conference and how smoothly the day went.
The Conference was moderated by Barry Leon of Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall and featured four excellent panel sessions. These sessions included:
An added feature of the Conference was a discussion of the involvement of Canadian corporate counsel in International Arbitration with the Chair of the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association, Geoff Creighton.
Many thanks to the four panel chairs for their work: Gerry Ghikas, Pierre Bienvenu, Bill Horton and David Roney, as well as the panellists for their interesting and insightful presentations. This Conference would not have been possible without the generous support of the Conference Sponsors - Borden Ladner Gervais, Cherniak McDougall Arbitration Services, Fasken Martineau, MacLeod Dixon, Stikeman Elliott, Toronto Commercial Arbitration Society and William G. Horton Dispute Resolution. Following the Conference, Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall sponsored a cocktail reception for the delegates at the Métropolitain Brasserie & Restaurant.
The 2012 International Arbitration Conference will be held in Montreal.
Thank you to our host and sponsors!
