The Chair of the St. John's Board of Trade says she and other members of the business community are "extremely disappointed" after a meeting Wednesday (September 13) with Minister of Finance Bill Morneau on proposed small business tax changes.

Dorothy Keating said she didn't feel that Morneau listened to the concerns put forward by the Board and that the new legislation was already a done deal.

"We had incredible St. John's businesspeople in the room with us in our meeting to articulate to the minister [what] the impact of the proposed changes would be on their businesses, and I really don't feel the respect that was deserved of those individuals was given today," she said.
