Rocky Mountaineer wins 2017 PBGA
The Canadian Chamber congratulates its corporate member, Rocky Mountaineer, on winning this year’s prestigious Private Business Growth Award. The family-run company was recognized at last night’s PBGA gala in Toronto, where 10 finalists were celebrated for their outstanding strategic growth.
The PBGA is a partnership between the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Grant Thornton LLP. Now in its fifth year, the award highlights private companies making remarkable achievements in strategic, sustainable and holistic growth.
Rocky Mountaineer demonstrates how the right entrepreneurial spirit, vision to the future and workplace culture lead to success. Since its launch in 1990, growth of the Vancouver-based company has been full-steam ahead. It now ranks as one of the largest privately owned rail tourism services in the world.
The company offers state-of-the-art train experiences through Western Canada’s breathtaking landscapes. By combining unparalleled views with exceptional service, Rocky Mountaineer has forged a reputation as a pioneer in the luxury travel industry, amassing dozens of awards along the way.
For multiple years, it has won the World Travel Awards’ category for World’s Leading Travel By Train. BBC Television deemed the experience among its list of 50 Things To Do Before You Die. Rocky Mountaineer has appeared on Deloitte’s list of Best Managed Companies and repeatedly made The 50 Best Employers list by Report on Business. These are but a few testaments to the company’s excellence in innovation and leadership.
The Private Business Growth Award pays tribute to the integral role Canada’s private businesses play in growing the country’s economy. Businesses are measured on several criteria including innovation, market development, people and culture, strategic leadership and improvement in financial measures. All finalists were selected by an independent Jury of accomplished business leaders.
Congratulations Rocky Mountaineer on earning this prestigious distinction. We want to thank you, all the finalists, and businesses from coast to coast that contribute every day to building a strong and prosperous Canada.
