Ottawa, August 24, 2015 — The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Mr. Guy Legault has joined its team as Chief Operating Officer.
Fully bilingual, Mr. Legault is a CGA, CPA by training and will bring a unique brand of management experience to the Canadian Chamber. He has a long and distinguished career in the management and administration of commercial and not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Legault joins the Canadian Chamber from Engineers Canada where he was Vice-President, Business Development and Services. Prior to that, Mr. Legault was President and CEO of the Canadian Payments Association from 2003-2012. His academic credentials include a B.Sc. in industrial relations from the Université de Montreal and an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke.
Mr. Legault is particularly experienced in association management. He holds a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives, where he currently serves as Vice-Chair. He has also served over the years as a volunteer and director in a number of other organizations, including the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, the New Edinburgh Community Alliance and the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT).
Mr. Legault’s appointment follows a comprehensive search process that saw a number of highly-qualified candidates apply for the position. His knowledge and experience will make him a welcome addition to the Canadian Chamber team, starting immediately.
