Ottawa, June 19, 2018 — The Hon. Perrin Beatty, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber, alongside the nine provincial, regional and territorial chamber presidents representing every region of the country, have united to publicly support the government’s efforts to defend Canadian interests in the face of unprecedented trade actions by the United States government.
In a letter sent to the Prime Minister, chamber of commerce representatives from across the country have stated that they stand with the Canadian government in its efforts to achieve a new North American Free Trade Agreement as well as to dismantle any trade barriers, despite the context of uncertainty created by the U.S. government’s actions.
